The resurrection of Jesus Christ is historical reality. Many people have set out to disprove it and have ended up converting to Christianity. A person can choose not to believe it but that won’t make the truth of the event go away. Jesus really lived. He really died. He was really buried. He really rose from the dead. The impact of those realities reaches far and deep. In fact, it should reach to the very depths of our hearts! One of the ways the resurrection should be applied to our hearts is the same way it was applied to the disciples. When Jesus first met with the whole group of assembled disciples on Resurrection Day, the first thing He said to them was “Peace to you.” There was more for them to learn and more for them to do but until they could be at peace, most of it would have to wait. When we’re anxious it is hard to do much of anything well. The first thing the Risen Christ wanted for them was…peace. He wanted His conquest over death and hell and sin to bring the disciples to a place of life, hope and peace. The resurrection of Jesus has provided many benefits but one of the main blessings is peace. Peace to you!
