“Life with Her…”

We’ve been doing life together for over 40 years. If you know who is writing this blog, you know who “her” is. We had a ceremony in 1981 that established a covenant between us. We don’t have a ceremony every year, but we eat together often. We’re still doing life together every day. Over the years we moved from Michigan to Florida. Then, from Florida to Iowa. Then, from Iowa back to Florida. Then, from Florida to Michigan. For a brief time, we thought we might go to Australia as missionaries. We came quite close to moving back to Florida. Along the way, the Lord blessed us with two sons. They each married and blessed us with daughters-in-law. As couples, they have blessed us with ten grandchildren. I have traveled with her. We haven’t been “all over,” but we’ve seen a portion of the U.S.A. and several countries. We’ve been to Israel twice. Annually we remember that ceremony that took place in 1981. Almost every day, we eat together. We’ve been doing life together for over 40 years. Marriage is a picture of Christ and the Church. Baptism is our confession of faith and love for the Lord. Communion is our meal together with Him and His people. Baptism pictures our immersion into life with God. Communion pictures our ongoing life with God. Salvation is the gift of life with God. It has a starting point. We can walk with Him daily. This life is about life with Him. Join us Sunday for the visual reminders of what life means and how it was made possible.
