This weekend is Missions Weekend and ultimately missions is about good news. The nations are in need of good news. God loves the world and His one of a kind Son, Jesus Christ came to bring the nations “in.” Whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have a new and forever quality of life. This good news has been travelling the earth for close to 2,000 years and the message has not diminished or lost its luster in any way. To know that we can be right with God, that our sins are forgiven, that Heaven is our destiny and that God’s quality of life can be our own, WOWSERS! Granted, not everything about missions and missionaries has been perfect. Missions is the work of the church and we know very well that not everything about the church has been perfect. But we must not let the messengers stain the message. We are imperfect messengers with a perfect message and helping others get that message to the nations is an investment for eternity. I’ll mention this in the Money Sermon next week but almost 30 more of you are giving to missions in 2024 than in 2023. You are going to be so glad that you got on board with this!
